Bob’s Big Boy Broiler Landscape
Downey, CA

The landscape for Bob's Big Boy Broiler is intended to complement the iconic mid-century architecture and signage using materials, lighting, and compositions commonly used during that era. A combination of plant material such as Flax, Cordyline, succulents, palms, gravel, and boulders were used at the building entry and parking lotto vary color, texture, and form. The plant varieties were also selected for low maintenance, with minimal water demands to reduce operating costs as well as promote conservation. Self- attaching vines on free-standing site walls also promote a more lush environment while discouraging graffiti.
