SBCCOG Climate Action Plans

Climate Action Plans are developed to help cities translate climate change goals into a focused and detailed plan that ultimately helps them achieve State level greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets.

California envisions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent below 1990 by the year 2030. To ensure that all cities are on track towards that goal, in the South Bay Region of Los Angeles, SBCCOG partnered with Studio One Eleven to create climate action plans for the following cities:

Studio One Eleven worked with SBCCOG to provide the 15 cities with a menu of strategies that combine traditional concepts such as Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) with other options that were tailor-made to address the unique context of the South Bay which is built-out but largely transit-poor.

The following plan was created specifically for the city of Redondo Beach.
